OUR THREE WISE MEN

Steve P. joined the VISTAS family in July 1985. Leon B. and Michael A. joined the VISTAS family in July 1987. These 3 extraordinary gentlemen have been an honor to serve over the past 28 to 30 years. Each of them has grown and progressed in so many areas related to stress-management, socialization, communication, community-integration, and independent living. They are kind, endearing, and unique individuals who VISTAS celebrates for their dedication and commitment. We are all proud of you guys and look forward to serving you in the years ahead!

-WITH A HEAVY HEART-

Molly – In 2018 Molly sadly and unexpectedly passed away. Having Molly as part of the VISTAS family for more than 10 years was an absolute honor. Affectionately known as “Drake” if she anointed you as her “brother” or “sister” you had the good fortune of having a loyal friend for eternity. Molly’s eclectic taste in attire (i.e., unmatching shoes, army fatigues, her father’ suits) and animated rendition of the White Stripe’s song “One Nation Army” made her an absolute fan favorite at the day program! Molly’s parents Tina and Paul continue to be active and valued members of the VISTAS family. Molly undoubtedly left consumers and staff members at VISTAS with endless and wonderful memories.

Joe – The VISTAS family has been greatly saddened by the loss of a beloved client and wonderful man, Joey. Affectionately known as ‘Joey,” he undeniably touched the hearts of every single staff member and client that has been part of the VISTAS family. His kind, colorful personality combined with a word-class and New York influenced sense of humor made him a crowd favorite wherever he happened to be at the time. Joey had unforgettable performances in past VISTAS productions. His crowning performance many would say, was his portrayal as Danny from the movie Grease where he received a standing ovation for his rendition of “greased lightening!” Joey’s lovely niece and great Niece (Dena and Brooke) continue to be part of the VISTAS family and provide us with fond memories and stories of this amazing man. Joey will be greatly missed, but never forgotten!

Luis- On April 26th, 2024, the VISTAS family lost a beloved consumer, Luis V. Luis came to VISTAS in October 2008. He started at the North Hollywood site before transferring to the Granada Hills program. During his time at both programs Luis ingratiated himself to all staff members and fellow peers. He will be greatly missed for brightening everyone’s spirits and constantly making others laugh each day with his colorful personality and well-developed sense of humor. The VISTAS family is grateful to have had 16 glorious years with Luis.
