This program began operating in Panorama City in 1985 and relocated to Granada Hills in 2008. It is vendored by the North Los Angeles County Regional Center.

After nearly 31 years as a center-based program, VISTAS Granada Hills has transitioned into a community-based program. Consumers at this program spend the entire day in the community with their assigned staff members. This affords clients the opportunity to learn in the natural environments. Consumers meet and depart each day at Petit Park, which is located at 16730 Chatsworth Street in Granada Hills. Consumers are transported to a wide variety of community sites with a pre-vocational, social, and recreational emphasis. These sites include museums, libraries, movie theatres, learning centers, specialty-stores, animal shelters, non-profit volunteer sites, parks, etc. During their time with consumers, staff members actively teach and counsel consumers on how to acquire a number of important skills related to socialization, communication, stress-management, independent-living and community-integration while at a myriad of local milieus. Similar to the center-based programs, the community-based model utilizes the principles of positive-behavioral support and humanism to help consumers meet their individual needs and improve the quality of their lives.

Yaniv Geller is the program director of VISTAS Granada Hills. He has worked with Specialized Health Services, Inc since 2000. Yaniv has extensive experience throughout the agency. He has successfully served as the administrator of the VISTAS Home and the Program Director for VISTAS North Hollywood before taking over as the Program Director for VISTAS Granada Hills. Yaniv has carved out a well-deserved reputation for being able to work effectively with consumers that present with severe behavioral and emotional challenges. It is not uncommon for Yaniv to have a successful therapeutic outcome with consumers that have been terminated from numerous programs and treatment centers prior to receiving services at the program Yaniv leads. Based upon his expertise working with severely challenged consumers, Yaniv conducts training seminars for agency employees teaching them how to effectively work with consumers that engage in aggressive and assaultive behaviors.
